USAID/ESP program plans to foster community cohesion in Maichew by organizing soccer tournaments engaging 1,000 youth. The project will hold an inception workshop, provide sports kits, and partner with the Tigray Youth Association to create opportunities for positive youth interaction and well-being.

The Tigray Youth Association (TYA) and UNFPA Implementing Partner MAEDOTAID have partnered to launch the “Youth Economic Empowerment and Peacebuilding Initiative” in the Tigray region of Ethiopia. Through a Memorandum of Understanding, the two organizations will co-implement UNFPA-supported income-generating activities training to provide vocational skills and economic opportunities for adolescents and youth, empowering them to participate in peacebuilding efforts within their communities affected by conflict and instability.
